Summertime, Summertime, Summertime!

Crazy time this thing called summer time.  Busy, busy, busy at the ranch.  I went on a road trip to see family and was gone just over 3 weeks and 4000 miles!  It was good to see everyone, but boy was I glad to get home.

We started the garden just before I left and it's progressing nicely.  I've already picked some lettuce, spinach and zucchini.  Yum!  Nothing like fresh from the garden!

We've had a very busy rooster or two. This one is the sweetest. Okay the only one that has NEVER tried to get me :) hahaha. 31 chicks were born while I was gone!

These little babies were also acquired while I was gone.  Meet Lil' Joe (the black steer) and Ms. Wendy.  They are very sweet.  They were bumb calves so we've been bottle feeding them.  Kind of fun!  Here they are chomping on some grass after their morning bottles.

This is Ms. Wendy sporting her new brand.  This brand has been in my husbands family for generations.  What a great feeling it was to be able to carry-on the tradition.
